SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ************************************************************ 1. The system must contain one of the following Intel chipsets: Intel« 810 Chipset 2. One of the following operating systems must be installed on the system: Microsoft* Windows* 3.1, 3.11 3. Supported languages are: US English, Japanese, French, Spanish, Dutch, Finnish, Portugese, German, Swedish, Danish, Norwedian, and Italian. Please check with your system provider to determine which operating system and Intel chipset are used in your system. ************************************************************ * 3. INSTALLING AND EXECUTING THE SOFTWARE ************************************************************ 1. Check the System Requirements. Windows 3.1 must be fully installed on the system prior to running this software. 2. From the DOS command line prompt insert diskette into drive a:. 3. Change to a: drive. Type in setup and press the Return key. 4. You should see a screen with the heading DISPLAY DRIVER SETUP PROGRAM. 5. Press any key to continue. You should see a screen with the heading Select any Application Driver to Install. There are instructions at the botton of the screen. 6. Press enter. You should see a menu with a heading Windows Version 3.1 (i810 unaccelerated drivers). There are instructions at the bottom of the screen. 7. Press enter and then the End key. 8. Next select the drive path for installation. The default is C:\WINDOWS. If the Windows operating system is in a different directory, select that directory. 9. Press enter. The video driver files will now be installed. 10. To complete the installation, follow the instructions displayed after the install process is complete. 11. Press any key, then the Escape key, and finally enter Y. You should be back at the DOS command line. 12. Change the directory to the C:\WINDOWS directory. 13. Type in setup and then press enter. You should now see the Windows setup menu. Using the cursor select the Display menu entry. Follow the instructions at the bottom of the screen to select the desired video driver. ************************************************************ * 4. VERIFYING INSTALLATION OF THE SOFTWARE ************************************************************ 1. From the DOS command prompt, change directory to \WINDOWS. 2. Run setup.exe. 3. Display should contain string "INTEL i810". ************************************************************ * 5. DE-INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE ************************************************************ Note that this procedure assumes the above installation process was successful. This de-installation procedure is specific only to the version of the driver and installation file included in this package. 1. Close any running applications and Windows 3.1. 2. From a DOS command prompt, change directory to \WINDOWS. 3. Run setup.exe 4.
