This feature enables Windows 95 to query the monitor, and if the monitor is DDC compliant, to return specific detailed information about the monitor. This information includes the manufacturer, model number, maximum resolution, maximum refresh rates, and other monitor-specific details. If the monitor is not DDC compliant, Windows 95 detects it as an Unknown Monitor and prompts for a definition of the monitor. The DDC feature provides full support for DDC-compliant monitors and the flexibility to customize settings for any non-DDC monitor. The first time you run Windows 95, the DDC communication occurs, and the maximum refresh rate for that particular monitor is set. If that refresh rate is unavailable in the video BIOS, the BIOS will step down to the next available refresh rate. 4.0 Trademarks ______________ IBM is a trademark of the IBM Corporation in the United States and/or other countries.
