The audio driver enables or updates the audio function of the following ThinkPad computer: - ThinkPad 240 To determine if you have to update the audio driver or not, please refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. Installation Guide ------------------ HOW TO DETERMINE WHAT VERSION IS INSTALLED: 1. Start Windows 95/98. 2. Click on 'Start' -> 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel'. 3. Open the 'System' icon. 4. Click on the 'Device Manager' tab. 5. Expand the 'Sound, video and game controller' section 6. Select "ESS SOLO-1 PCI AudioDrive" and click on 'Properties'. 7. Click on the 'Driver' tab. 8. Click on the 'Driver File Details' button. 9. Highlight the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ESSOLO.VXD. The version is displayed in the software version line. HOW TO INSTALL THE DRIVER: (Note) To determine if you have to update the audio driver or not, please refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. 1. Start Windows 95/98. 2. Extract this package to the hard disk. 3. Click on 'Start' -> 'Run...'. 4. Type "C:\DRIVERS\W9X\AUDIO\SETUP" and click on OK. Or specify the installation program "SETUP.EXE" with full path you extracted the files to in step 2 and click on 'OK'. 5. Click on the 'Next' button. 6. Select 'Upgrade Drivers'. 7. Click on the 'Next' button. 8. Select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now". 9. Click on the 'Finish' button. 10. The system will restart.
