What This Packages Does ----------------------- This package provides the Modem driver for Windows 95/98/NT 4.0 users. The Modem driver enables or updates the Modem function of the following ThinkPad computers: - ThinkPad 240 (with Internal Modem) To determine if you have to update the Modem driver or not, please refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. To update the Modem driver, please refer to the "Installation Guide" section. Danish, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Spanish, Swedish, English and Japanese Installation Guide ------------------ HOW TO DETERMINE WHAT VERSION IS INSTALLED: (Windows 95/98) 1. Start Windows 95/98. 2. Click on 'Start'->'Find'->'Files or Folders...'. 3. Click on the 'Name & Location' tab. 4. In the 'Named:' field, type in "Ltmodem.vxd". 5. In the 'Look in:' field, specify "Local Hard drives (C:, D:, ..)". 6. Click on the 'Find Now' button. Windows will now search your hard drive for Ltmodem.vxd. If the file is not found, then the Modem driver is not installed on your system. 7. In the 'Found' part of the windows, right-click on "Ltmodem.vxd" located in the drive specified by the step 5 above. 8. Click on the 'Version' tab. The version will be displayed. HOW TO DETERMINE WHAT VERSION IS INSTALLED: (Windows NT 4.0) 1. Start Windows NT 4.0 2. Click on 'Start'->'Find'->'Files or Folders...'. 3. Click on the 'Name & Location' tab. 4. In the 'Named:' field, type in "Ltmodem.sys". 5. In the 'Look in:' field, specify "Local Hard drives (C:, D:, ..)". 6. Click on the 'Find Now' button. Windows will now search your hard drive for Ltmodem.sys. If the file is not found, then the Modem driver is not installed on your system. 7. In the 'Found' part of the windows, right-click on "Ltmodem.sys" located in the drive specified by the step 5 above. 8. Click on the 'Version' tab. The version will be displayed. HOW TO INSTALL THE DRIVER: (Note) To determine if you have to update the Modem driver or not, please refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. 1. Start Windows 95/98/NT 4.0. 2. Extract the modem drivers to the hard drive. 3. Click on 'Start' -> 'Run...'. 4. Type "C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MODEM\SETUP" and click on OK. Or specify the installation program "SETUP.EXE" with full path you extracted in the step 2 and click on 'OK'. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
