Utility Features for Windows 95/98

Note: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard drive.
      It will only extract under Windows 95/98 and Windows NT.  The
      extraction process will NOT work with any other operating
      system.


What These Packages Do
-----------------------
This package provides the following utility programs for Windows 95/98
users:
  - ThinkPad Configuration program (setup program)
  - Fuel-Gauge program

Note:
  - On Windows 95, Internet Explorer version 4 or later needs to be
    installed.

Windows 95/98 users need the following packages:
  - Personalization Data Update Diskette (if Personalization is supported)

Package UTTP1W98, enables or updates the utility programs of the
following ThinkPad computers:
  - ThinkPad 600, 600E
  - ThinkPad 760E, 760ED, 760EL, 760ELD, 760XD, 760XL
  - ThinkPad 765D, 765L
  - ThinkPad 770, 770E, 770ED, 770X, 770Z

Package UTTP2W98, enables or updates the utility programs of the
following ThinkPad computers:

  - ThinkPad 365X, 365XD
  - ThinkPad 380, 380D, 380E, 380ED, 380XD, 380Z
  - ThinkPad 385D, 385ED, 385XD
  - ThinkPad 560, 560E, 560X, 560Z
  - ThinkPad 570

To determine if you have to update the utility programs or not, please
refer to the "Summary of Changes" section.

To update the utility programs, please refer to the "Installation Guide"
section.

Installation Guide
------------------

Note:
If this package is used for Windows 95, Internet Explorer version 4
or later will need to be installed.

 1. Start Windows 95/98.
 2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk.
 3. Click on Start -> Run...
 4. Type in "C:\DRIVERS\W98\UTILITY\SETUP.EXE" then click on 'OK'
 5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Note:
  When prompted for target directory during installation, only a
  short name can be specified for a target directory, e.g. C:\THINKPAD.
  Do NOT specify a directory name with spaces, e.g. "C:\IBM ThinkPad\".
