Netfinity Web Server Accelerator was designed not only for maximum performance, but for administration and installation ease by providing an interface that is fully integrated with Microsoft Management Console. Netfinity Web Server Accelerator will work with any existing web server software, and it is scaleable for 1, 2, or 4 processors. 2.0 Minimum System Requirements _______________________________ A. A Netfinity Server model 1000, 3000, 3500, 5000, 5500, 5500 Pro, 7000, 7000 M10 or PC 325. B. Windows NT 4.0 SP3 (service pack 3) C. Internet Explorer 4.0 (Netfinity Web Server accelerator uses the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) as part of the user interface. MMC requires IE 4.0) D. 64MB of memory E. 10MB of hard disk space F. A working web server software package. Netfinity Web Server Accelerator is only supported when used in conjunction with Internet Information Server, Apache, and Netscape Fastrac. 3.0 Quick Install/Setup ________________________ A. Download the file, NWSA.exe, from http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/solutions/netfinity/ server_accelerator.html. B. Execute this file by choosing RUN from the Window's Startup menu. Enter in the path and file name of the downloaded file (e.g. c:\download\NWSA.exe), and then click on OK. This will cause Netfinity Web Server Accelerator to self-extract about ten files into that directory. C. Setup.exe will automatically launch when extraction is complete. D. Launch "Netfinity Web Server Accelerator" from the Windows Start menu. E. After MMC loads, click on the Action menu button, and select CONNECT. This should add "Web Accelerator" under your machine name in the scope panel. F. Right mouse clicking on "Web Accelerator" in the scope pane will open a popup menu. Select properties from here. Customize your web accelerator (port numbers, directories to cache, and logging) using the options provided. G. After closing the properties dialog, right click on "Web Accelerator" again, and choose start. Netfinity Web Server Accelerator is now running. 4.0 Obtaining Support ______________________ Before contacting IBM for technical support, please review the file NWSA.txt (this should have extracted with the program itself).
