GRAND PRIX MANAGER Version 1.01 HOW TO INSTALL THE UPGRADE DISK UPGRADE If the update came to you on disk, just insert the disk into your disk drive and run the program update.exe. Just follow the on-screen instructions. Note for Win95 users: to run the program you can press Start on the task bar then select Run.... In the panel that appears type in the drive letter, a slash (\) and update.exe (e.g. a:\update.exe) - then hit OK. Note for Windows 3.1x users: to run the program you can start File Manager, press the floppy drive icon (usually a) and double click on the update.exe program listed in the Window. DOWNLOADED UPGRADE If you got the update by downloading it, just copy the single file into the same directory that you installed Grand Prix Manager in and decompress the ZIP file using PKUNZIP. NEW FEATURES During the race: - if you press the Position button, the race is paused and the cars number appears. If you now click on the race track the number will change to the position you are currently in, clicking again on the race track toggles you back to the car number. To re-start the race just click on the depressed Position button. This will help you identify where the car in front of you is. - a letter representing the tyre type (W for Wet, A for Compound A etc.) now appears in front of the tyre rating on your control panel. ALTERATIONS We have made the current top teams dominate their less well funded opposition even more. Have reviewed all of the components (Car Internals, Car Externals, Driver Aids etc.) and adjusted their importance to make it more obvious to the player the importance the item has. Taken the opportunity to add more AI for the computer player's pit stop strategy during wet weather races. To help you get started in the world of sponsors, we have made one of the smaller companies be willing to commit to you straight away. Removed any odd occurrences which were reported (such as an Insurance memo occasionally appearing without any text and a little GPM car icon not appearing on the Win95 task bar). THANK YOU Thanks for all your comments and suggestions - we do value your feedback. Unfortunately some, like getting the game to run in higher colour depth, such as true colour mode, rather than 256 colour mode, are not possible because of technical limitations, but we will keep these and other comments in mind for future games.
