*********** TWILIGHT 2000 *********** HUNT VALLEY, MD _ Computer gamers will soon fight to survive in TWILIGHT 2000, the classic Game Designer's Workshop role-playing adventure, designed by Paragon Software and marketed and distributed by MicroProse Software, Inc. TWILIGHT 2000 offers players a unique and innovative game because it is rooted in the award-winning and popular role-playing system. In addition, Marc Miller, president of GDW and creator of the MegaTraveller universe, is consulting on and designing segments of the game. "We have built on the strengths of our previous GDW computer role-playing titles, MEGATRAVELLER 1 and SPACE 1889," said Paragon President Mark Seremet, "and have designed an intriguing game that will entertain players for hours." TWILIGHT 2000 takes place in the devastation of Poland after World War III. Players must not only survive, but must also complete missions to help rebuild society despite opposing forces. Because there is no higher command to give orders, gamers will decide their own actions and ultimately their own fate. TWILIGHT 2000 will consist of a character generation system, a character recruiting system, 3-D vehicle simulator, and "to scale" overhead combat/exploration perspective. The player will be able to select from hundreds of weapons and equipment and acquire dozens of vehicles. Four characters will be permitted in each party, although the player will control only the party leader, allowing for a single hero. The character generation system, unlike MEGATRAVELLER 1 and SPACE 1889, will be done through graphic icons. This easy-to-use generator will produce and save an infinite number of complete characters that can also be printed and used in the paper game. Character generator features will include: male and female characters; 30 nationalities; 58 attributes and skills; and 63 civilian, educational and military careers. TWILIGHT 2000 will require 640K and will have a suggested retail price of $59.95. It will support 256 color MCGA/VGA, Hi Res EGA, EGA, Tandy graphics and AdLib, Roland, Sound Blaster and Covox sound boards as well as joystick, keyboard and mouse. Paragon Software designs and markets a complete line of entertainment software for personal computers, including the upcoming MEGATRAVELLER II. Its products are marketed by MicroProse Software, Inc. TWILIGHT 2000 will be released for IBM-PC and Tandy computers. IBM and Tandy are registered trademarks of International Business Machines and Tandy Corporation, respectively.
