This driver may be used with ATI products based on the Rage PRO. ************************************ B) REGIONAL SETTINGS and LANGUAGES NT4_RPRO_5_1_129_CS.exe contains a display driver with language support for; English ************************************ C) USING NT4_RPRO_5_1_129_CS.exe Overview There are two phases to the installation of a driver that has been downloaded from the ATI WEB site. The first phase occurs when you run the NT4_RPRO_5_1_129_CS.exe program. This phase creates a temporary directory on the system disk and unpacks all the individual files that make up the ATI software bundle. In the second phase the ATI Drivers are installed (from the temporary directory) into the operating system. Steps a) You must download NT4_RPRO_5_1_129_CS.exe and save it to a directory on your systems hard disk. For example C:\temp is a common directory used to initially save a file into. b) Once you have downloaded NT4_RPRO_5_1_129_CS.exe, 1. Close all programs 2. Click the START button and select the RUN menu item. 3. Click the BROWSE button. 4. Browse to the directory where NT4_RPRO_5_1_129_CS.exe was saved. 5. Select NT4_RPRO_5_1_129_CS.exe and click OK to run the program. 6. Follow the instructions on the screen. ! The individual files will be unpacked and placed into a directory on your hard disk. The default path for this directory is C:\ATI\support\NT4_RPRO_5_1_129_CS\ ! After copying the files to the hard disk the drivers must be installed. You may choose to abort the INSTALL process at this point. (If you abort, no software will be installed into Windows.) c)DISPLAY DRIVER installation instructions after running NT4_RPRO_5_1_129_CS. 1. Run the Windows NT Display program located in the Control Panel, under "Settings" in the Start menu. Alternatively, position the cursor on the background of the desktop, click the right mouse button, then select "Properties" from the popup menu. 2. Select the "Settings" page. 3. Select "Display Type...". 4. Select "Change..." from the display options. 5. Select "Have Disk..." 6. NT will prompt you for the correct path, enter C:\ATI\SUPPORT\NT4_RPRO_5_1_129_CS. Confirm that ATI.INF is selected and click "OK" twice. 7. A list of ATI graphics accelerators will be displayed. Select the card you are using, then click on the "OK" button. 8. Windows NT will once again prompt for confirmation. All appropriate files are then copied to your Windows directory. 9. Restart Windows NT. Windows NT will start up using the new drivers. 10. NT will boot into a default mode and start the Display applet allowing for mode selection. After successfully installing the driver, you can delete the contents of the directory C:\ATI\SUPPORT\NT4_RPRO_5_1_129_CS. We recommend that you keep a copy of the NT4_RPRO_5_1_129_CS.EXE, in case you need to install the driver again. ************************************ D) UN-INSTALL To un-install temporary files from the DOWNLOAD bundle; 1. Delete the directory C:\ATI\support\NT4_RPRO_5_1_129_CS\ NOTE: If you unbundled the files into a different directory, simply delete that directory. ************************************ E) ISSUES YOU MAY ENCOUNTER: Version Conflicts VERSION CONFLICTS may occur if you have installed a previous version of the Rage PRO display driver. For example you may encounter Version Conflicts if you install this driver on a system where you have previously installed a Special Purpose Driver. If you encounter a "VERSION CONFLICT" message while installing this display driver select the "NO" option to proceed. * Selecting "NO" will ensure that the components of this driver bundle will replace your existing driver components. * Selecting "YES" will result in a MIX of new and old driver components, which is undesirable. ************************************ F) ISSUES RESOLVED by NT4_RPRO_5_1_129_CS.exe 1.
