DESCRIPTION: 
The System Configuration supports ALL currently shipping Systems Division
server products. It is installed on the System Partition for those systems
which support it and have hard drives. It is shipped as diskette(s) on all
other products.

This version of the COMPAQ EISA CONFIGURATION UTILITY adds support
for Deskpro/XL, SafeStart, Pentium-90 processor boards, fixes minor problems,
and provides enhancements to Version 2.22 Rev.D

NEW FEATURES:
  o Added support for Pentium 90MHz processor boards.
  o Added support for Deskpro/XL.
  o Added support for Deskpro/XL P5/90 PCI processor boards.
  o Added support for SafeStart.
  o Added support for PCI Master Enable function in Deskpro/XL.

  o Added additional resource (Port=388h) for Integrated Audio in Deskpro/XL.

PROBLEMS FIXED:
  o  Fixed a bug where the remote CF loses connection in COM2 port
     occasionally.
  o  Fixed a QVision 2000 video buffer bug in which a user with more than 
     32 MB of memory and a ROM later than 8/1/94 could get no video after 
     configuring the computer.
  o  Corrected the System Configuration internal revision.
  o  Fixed the hanging problem when CF attempts to identify attached devices 
     on the disabled embedded AMD SCSI or on the 3rd party controllers.
  o  Removed SIMM speed function from the advanced feature in Deskpro/XL.
  o  Changed the default of the PCI Master Enable function to disable for
     Deskpro/XL .
  o  Fixed a bad drive geometry (soft-drive type 42) bug in Deskpro/XL when 
     it is moved from an ISA to an EISA machine.
  o  Removed IRQ choices for Audio Resources in Deskpro/XL.
  o  Changed default A20 Switching for Port 92 in advanced mode to Enabled.

HOW TO USE: 

1. Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2. If SoftPaq obtained on diskette, copy the SoftPaq file to a temporary
   directory on the hard drive and go to that directory:

     MD C:\CPQ
     COPY A:\SP1016.EXE C:\CPQ
     C:
     CD \CPQ

   If SoftPaq downloaded from BBS, go to the directory where downloaded
   to: 
      C: CD \CPQ 

3. From that drive and directory, run the SoftPaq utility to unbind the
   primary files.  SP1016 (and press ENTER) The following files should
   be created: 

     QRST5.EXE README.TXT

4. Create the diskette image by running this command at the DOS prompt:

     QRST5 (and press ENTER)

5. The "Choose the Transfer Type..." prompt appears.  Choose the
   highlighted, default selection "All diskettes in the Set" by pressing
   ENTER.

6. The "You will need to have the specified number of each type(s) of
   pre-formatted media..." prompt appears.  It is asking for one 1.44 MB
   diskette.  

Verify that you have a formatted 1.44 MB diskette and press ENTER to
accept and continue.  

IMPORTANT: Only a 1.44 MB diskette can be used, other types of media
           cannot be substituted.

7. The "Create diskette number one, insert a 1.44 MB diskette into drive
   [A] or [B]" prompt is given.  (Either A or B will be included in the
   prompt, depending on where your 3.5 inch diskette drive is located.

If the drive shown in the prompt is not the one you wish to use, change
the value by pressing either A or B.

At this point, you can optionally print a label (if your printer is
attached) by pressing F5.

To begin diskette creation, press ENTER.

8. A counter box will be displayed during creation showing status. The
   number of cylinders will count up to 80.

9. When QRST5 has completed, it will exit back to DOS with the message:

     "QRST5: Transfer Completed"

10. At this point, the System configuration diskette(s) has been created and 
    is ready to use for configuring the computer.
