DESCRIPTION:  The Options ROMPaq diskette allows a user to upgrade the the ROM Firmware images for Compaq System product Options and Hard Drives.  

Enhancements include:
*  New firmware version 3223 for Compaq 2GB (model ST12550) drives now does read-lookahead, resulting in higher performance.
*  New DAT firmware version 4.BG-10 for 2/8 GB DAT and 4/16 GB TurboDAT.
*  New DAT firmware version 4.BG-410 for TurboDAT AutoLoader.
*  Added PCI Support
*  Options ROMPaq has grown from 1 bootable diskette to 2 (two) bootable diskettes

SUPERCEDES: SP0848, SP0807, SP0761, and SP0709

HOW TO USE:

1.  After downloading the SoftPaq, copy it to an empty directory and change to that directory.  If downloaded in zipped format (.ZIP), unzip the file to create an executable:  PKUNZIP SP1084

2.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file to unbind the primary files:  SP1084 [ENTER]

3. Obtain two (2) formatted 1.44MB diskettes.

Disk #1 -- Options ROMPaq for the Compaq Fast SCSI-2 Hard Drives and Smart SCSI Array Controllers

Disk #2 -- Options ROMPaq for Compaq SCSI DAT Tape Drives, Compaq Tape Drives, and PCI Video Support.

4.  To create the diskettes and update the appropriate ROM, refer to SP1084.DOC for help.
