DESCRIPTION:  The System Configuration supports ALL currently shipping Systems Division server products. It is installed on the System Partition for those systems which support it and have hard drives. It is shipped as diskette(s) on all other products.

This version of the Compaq EISA Configuration Utility is a maintenance release.  No new systems or options are supported since Version 2.24 Rev A.  This release includes fixes for minor problems, and a few enhancements to Version 2.24 Rev.A

NEW FEATURES:
- Allow configuration of boards with PCI-to-PCI bridges.
- Add IDE PCI support.
- Add support for ProLiant 1500 and ProSignia 300.
- Add support for Compaq 32-Bit Fast-Wide SCSI-2/E Controller and Compaq 32-Bit Fast-Wide SCSI-2/P Controller.
- Add Token-Ring Source Routing support to network remote.
- Add support for new 2.10Gb and 4.20Gb drives for SMART controller.

PROBLEMS FIXED:
- Allow ASR Dial-in/Dial-out and Boot Option to be enabled and disabled independently.
- The IDA-2 controller now shows drive positions when configured in a ProSignia 500.
- Removed IRQ 14 as an option on the Compaq 32-Bit Fast-Wide SCSI-2/E Controller when UNIX is the operating system.
- Warn the user if a Compaq disk controller is in the video slot, except on SystemPro/XL, Proliant 4000, and Proliant 2000.
- Added a four byte signature to the Master Boot Record at offset 440 on drive 0x80 and 0x81 to work around a series of problems in the Windows NT 3.5 loader code. These signatures are only written if the OS selected is Windows NT.
- Changed the allocation of large I/O port ranges for ISA PnP boards to prevent ISA PnP I/O ranges from getting in the way of EISA ranges.

HOW TO USE:  

1.  After downloading the SoftPaq, copy it to an empty directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  If downloaded in zipped format (.ZIP), unzip the file to create an executable:  PKUNZIP SP1122

2.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file to unbind the primary files:  SP1122 [ENTER]

3.  Obtain three (2) formatted 1.2 MB 5.25" diskettes.

4.  To create the diskettes and install the software, refer to SP1122.DOC.
