DESCRIPTION:  The Compaq Extended Feature Supplement (EFS) 5.0 for SCO UNIX 5.0 is a collection of device drivers to provide maximum performance with Compaq hardware.  EFS 5.0 also includes several utilities to monitor and increase the performance of your Compaq server.  Please note that this initial release of EFS 5.0 is only for SCO UNIX 5.0, the latest operating system from SCO.  Continue to use the earlier EFS 1.9.0 (Softpaq SP0966) for SCO UNIX 3.2 Version 4.

HOW TO USE: 

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE SYSTEM WHILE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE!

To create four (4) EFS 5.0 diskettes: 

1.  Download the SoftPaq to an empty directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  If downloaded in zipped format (.ZIP), unzip the file to create an executable:  PKUNZIP SP1138

2.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file to unbind the primary files:  SP1138 [ENTER]
The following files should be created: 
        EFS500._01
        EFS500._02
        EFS500._03
        EFS500._04
        QRST.EXE
        SP1138.DOC

3.  Obtain 4 DOS formatted 1.44 MB diskettes

IMPORTANT: Only 1.44 MB, DOS formatted diskettes can be used, other types of media cannot be substituted.

4.  To create the diskettes and install the software, refer to SP1138.DOC for instructions on running the QRST program.
