This file will NOT erase a valid password nor will it allow the altering of a valid password. This program was created to correct an issue caused by Compaq Manufacturing Diagnostics writing information to a CMOS location which conflicts with the checksum location of the power-on password casuing an invalid password to be installed on a system. WHEN TO USE: If you are unable to set a power-on password from F10 setup. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.
