BASE_OFF.OS2 also recovers several of the resources formerly allocated to the disabled features. These resources may be disabled through command line arguments in the following syntax: DEVICE=[drive:\path\]BASE_OFF.OS2 [/1] [/2] [/N] [/S] [/H] 1 turns off ISA slot 1 in the base' 2 turns off ISA slot 2 in the base' N turns off integrated NIC in the base' S turns off integrated SCSI in the base' H turns off secondary hard disk in the base' *WARNING!* Do NOT disable the integrated SCSI interface while a SCSI device is attached to the SmartStation SCSI connector, or the system may hang while loading BASE_OFF.OS2. SUPERSEDES: N/A HOW TO USE: 1. Boot OS/2 2.00 or greater and open a DOS session. 2. After downloading the SoftPaq, copy it to an empty directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. If downloaded in zipped format (.ZIP), unzip the file to create an executable: PKUNZIP SP1197 3. From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file to unbind the primary files: SP1197 [ENTER] The following files should be created: BASE_OFF.OS2 BASE_OFF.DOC 4. Copy the program BASE_OFF.OS2 to a subdirectory of your OS/2 boot drive. 5. Add the following line to the config.sys located in the root directory of your OS/2 boot drive: DEVICE=[drive:\path\]BASE_OFF.OS2 [/1] [/2] [/N] [/S] [/H] 6. When OS/2 is booted, the config.sys loads BASE_OFF.OS2. BASE_OFF.OS2 configures the system as per command line arguments and then unloads from memory.
