This program was created to correct an issue caused by Compaq Manufacturing Diagnostics where SafeStart is enabled and the administrator password was inadvertently set in EISA config on the DeskPro XL prior to shipment. On units with this problem, the customer will not be able to set the administrative password from the Security Utility in the Compaq Utilities Group until this program is run and F10 EISA config is rerun. This softpaq should only be run on a DeskPro XL. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is SP1230.EXE. 2. From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file: SP1230 [ENTER] The following files will be created: SSTRTFIX.EXE SP1230.DOC 4. After the files are created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1230.EXE if you wish. 5. Make sure Windows is closed. Run SSTRTFIX from the DOS prompt. 6. Reboot your Deskpro XL, hit F10 when the cursor moves to the upper right hand corner of the screen. Run EISA Config, verify the Administrative Password, and exit.
