DESCRIPTION:  System Configuration utility supports all currently shipping Systems Division server products.  It is installed on the System Partition for those systems which support it and have hard drives. It is shipped as diskette(s) on all other products.

This version of the COMPAQ EISA CONFIGURATION UTILITY adds support for new products and options, fixes PCI & ISA PnP minor problems, and provides enhancements to Version 2.24 revision B.

PROBLEMS FIXED:
- Warn user about the requirement of the 220VAC if the system loaded with four processors.
- Split System Dispatcher for CD, Diskettes/System Partition.
- Allowed the user to print resource information even if there were no switch or jumpers defined.
- Remove empty slot in SCI file for FE00 board.
- Made "save as" write out the PnP PCI boards with their ecd's to match the system.sci file.
- Change the way Config allocates large I/O port ranges for ISA PnP boards. If the max port is above 0xF000, we restrict the range to 0xZ000 to 0xZ0FF.  Otherwise, it gets the range it requests.
- Improve the ROM initializing of the unconfigured Fast SCSI-2 controller to consistently identify its attached device(s).
- Fix a memory bug in large buffers for route when running Diags remotely.  Larger buffers should only be loaded for Token-ring source routing.
- Fix the configuration update problem with Windows/NT systems.
- Allow the Prosignia 500 cache policy in NVRAM to write back.
- Correct the identification of 486/66 processors on ProSignia servers
- Made changes for the PALM-4 card to tolerate the vendor defined tag in the header of the resource data.
- Change to fix a problem which caused Future Domain's PnP SCSI adapter to be assigned level trigger integers when it needed edge trigger.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain two (2) formatted 1.2 MB 5.25" diskettes.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1235.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP1235 [ENTER]
The following files should be created: 
QRST5.EXE
US_CF12._01
US_CF12._02
SP1235.DOC

4.  At the DOS prompt, execute QRST5.EXE and follow the instructions on the screen to create the diskettes. Be sure to label each diskette exactly as it is shown on the screen for later reference.

5.  After the diskettes are created, you may delete the downloaded files from your hard drive if you wish.

6. To install the software, insert diskette #1 (the disk has a "Use this Disk First" label) in drive A: and reboot the computer.

7.  Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the configuration process.
