OPERATING SYSTEM: Novell NetWare versions 3.x, 4.x SYSTEM CONFIGURATION: This corrects a problem that occurs under certain conditions (listed below) only on certain Compaq servers with Error Correctable (ECC) memory which are running the Compaq Server Health Agent for NetWare v2.40. SUPERSEDES: N/A DESCRIPTION: The affected Compaq servers may experience an ABEND if all of the conditions listed below exist: - The server must be a ProLiant 1500, ProSignia 300, or ProSignia 500 with a 100 Mhz, 120 Mhz, or 133 Mhz processor board installed - The Compaq Server Health Agent (CPQHTHSA) v2.40 must be running - The server must be running TCP/IP - Insight Manager must be running on top of TCP/IP to view the server (Note: If Insight Manager is running on IPX, the ABEND doesn't occur) - A correctable memory error must have occurred on the server - Insight Manager must be used to view that correctable memory error If these criteria are met, the server will ABEND with the following error message whenever Insight Manager is used to view the correctable memory error log: ABEND: Page Fault Processor Exception (Error Code 00000000) This SoftPaq provides version 2.41 of the Compaq Server Health Agent (CPQHTHSA.NLM) which will not experience the ABEND. HOW TO USE: 1. Locate a PC which can be used to log in to the NetWare server which will receive the updated software. 2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on the hard drive and change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is SP1238.EXE. 3. From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file: SP1238 [ENTER] The following files should be created: CPQHTHSA.NLM README.TXT 4. After the files are created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1238.EXE if you wish. 5. From a client PC, log in to the server with ADMINISTRATOR rights. Map an unused drive letter (for example, F:) to the SYS:\ volume root directory and type the following copy command to copy CPQHTHSA.NLM v2.41 to the server: COPY C:\CPQ\CPQHTHSA.NLM F:\SYSTEM 6. Walk over to the server and type the following commands: UNLOAD CPQHTHSA LOAD CPQHTHSA 7. The procedure is now complete and the fixed version is now running.
