DESCRIPTION: Upgrade the modem ROM to version 1.07 for a SpeedPaq 192 Fax Modem.

Major New Features:
-  V42bis throughput increased
-  Executing an &F, &F5, or &F6 now also does an &C1 and an &D2

Major Problems Corrected:
-  Would not fax reliably sometimes if &F5, &F6, &F15, or &F16 were used as the fax program's init string.
-  Would not fax long pages if neither &K3 or \Q3 were entered in the fax program's init string and the fax package was configured for hardware flow control.
-  Would sometimes negotiate MNP instead of LAPM if answering calls from some USR modems.
-  Could not connect to some Hayes modems at 1200 or 2400 when the Hayes modems were answering.
-  In some laptops, modem would not initialize correctly when inserted, instead would make a buzzing sound.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1359.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP1359 [ENTER]
    You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1359.EXE if you wish.

5.  Please view the README.1ST file on the diskette for instructions on how to use the ROMpaq.
