DESCRIPTION:  This utility will allow the user to "lock" files to keep others from using them unless they know the password.  Presario Vault can lock almost any file except files on CD-ROMs, diskettes or network drives, or files that are necessary for the operating system. This utility is only intended to make it difficult, but not impossible, for an unauthorized person to access programs or files.  If there are sensitive or important files that need guaranteed security, they should be physically secured.  For further information, please read the program help files.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain 1 formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1393.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP1393 [ENTER]
    You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1393.EXE if you wish.

5.  For a Windows 3.1x installation, select File, Run... from the Program Manager pull-down menu.  Type in A:\CPQINST and select OK.  Presario Vault will be installed in the Accessories group box.

For a Windows 95 installation, select Run from the Start menu.  Type in A:\CPQINST and press <Enter>.  Presario Vault will install in the Accessories program menu.
