Softpaq Solution: SP1497 File Name: CPQDSKSA.NLM Title: Fix Mounting of CD-ROMs on Novell NetWare Server Version: 2.61 CATEGORY: Drivers / Miscellaneous EFFECTIVE DATE: 29 Mar 96 PRODUCTS AFFECTED: Any Compaq server with a SMART controller OPERATING SYSTEM: Novell NetWare 3.X or 4.X SYSTEM CONFIGURATION: Running NetWare with CPQDSKSA.NLM version 2.50 or 2.60 loaded DESCRIPTION: This contains an updated version (2.61) of CPQDSKSA.NLM that fixes a problem under versions 2.50 or 2.60 where CD-ROMs failed to mount when CPQDSKSA.NLM was loaded. CD-ROMs would usually mount when CPQDSKSA.NLM was unloaded, but some users reported that they had to rebuild or purge the CD-ROM indexes before the CD-ROM would mount. This problem is characterized by the following error messages. When attempting to mount the CD-ROM: CDROM-4.10-025: ERROR: Volume could NOT be mounted. When unloading CPQDSKSA.NLM: Module did not release 1 resource Module: Compaq Insight Storage Subsystem Ag Resource: Disk Devices Description: Disk Drive Locks At times, this message appears: Module did not release 80 resources Module: Compaq Insight Storage Subsystem Ag Resource: Small memory allocations Description: Alloc Memory (Bytes) HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is SP1497.EXE. 2. From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file: SP1497 [ENTER] The following files should be created: CPQDSKSA.NLM SP1497.DOC 3. After the files are created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1497.EXE if you wish. 4. Copy the file CPQDSKSA.NLM to your NetWare server's system directory, usually called sys:system\ 5. From the NetWare server prompt enter: unload cpqdsksa A message stating that module cpqdsksa.nlm was unloaded should appear.
