DESCRIPTION:  This creates a diskette containing support for the CD-ROM/Floppy Swapping feature for the LTE 5000 Family under Windows 3.1.  This feature, also known as Standby/Suspend MultiBay Device Exchange, only applies to the notebook when the default is set to boot from the hard disk in theNotebook Hard Drive Bay and is not supported when docked in the expansion base.  While the notebook is undocked, the MultiBay CD-ROM drive, diskette drive, and a battery can be exchanged in the notebook MultiBay during Standby/Suspend.

NOTE: This driver does not support Audio on the 2X CD-ROM drives with Compaq spare part number 213561-001. This part number can be found on the bottom of the CD-ROM drive on a small bar-code label.  For audio support on these CD-ROM drives, please use the Teac TEAC_CDI.SYS driver with these drives instead of CPQLTECD.SYS.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain one formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1589.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP1589 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1589.EXE if you wish.

5.  Refer to the README file included on this diskette for important notes about the driver's functionality.

6.  Insert the diskette into the A: drive.

7.  In Windows, select File / Run.  At the Command Line, type:  A:\CPQINST [ENTER]
