DESCRIPTION:  This creates a diskette that allows a user to upgrade the System ROM on an LTE 5000 to a version P55D System ROM (19 Feb 1996).

ROM UPDATES:
*Corrects Hibernation issues when the operating system APM drivers are not loaded.
*Prevents a warm boot during POST, eliminating the ability to bypass the Power-on Password.
*Correctly identifies the parallel port as an EPP port to configuration calls to the BIOS.
*Corrects erratic mouse behavior when in the MS DOS Editor, Compaq Computer Setup, MS Word and MS Excel. 

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1590.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP1590 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1590.EXE if you wish.

5.  Power down the computer.

6.  Place the newly created Compaq LTE 5000 ROMPaq Diskette in Drive A: and power up the computer.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE SYSTEM WHILE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE!
