DESCRIPTION:  The programs CPQSDLC1.COM and CPQSDLC2.COM enable Compaq 
computers with 486 or Pentium processors to utilize the 8-Bit IBM SDLC 
Adapter.  Prior to this solution, 8-bit SDLC adapters were not 
functional in these fast processor computers without severe performance 
loss.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive that is in 
the path, for example C:\UTIL, and change to that directory.  The file 
that is downloaded is SP1862.EXE.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP1862 [ENTER]
The following files should be created:
CPQSDLC1.COM
CPQSDLC2.COM 
CPQSDLC.DOC

3. After the files are created, you may delete the downloaded file 
SP1862.EXE if you wish.

4. Edit the AUTOEXEC.BAT file and add the following command lines as 
shown below anywhere after the path statement and before Windows starts. 
NOTE:  The directory where the two programs reside must be in the DOS 
path.

CPQSDLC1.COM
CPQSDLC2.COM
. . .
WIN
           
5.  Reboot the computer.
