GRAVIS ULTRASOUND FIX for EARTHSIEGE 
                                      
This patch will correct a sound card problem experienced by Gravis Ultrasound 
users with Earthsiege. This patch is specific to Earthsiege and will not work 
with other Sierra or Dynamix products.

INSTALLATION:

To install the patch:

1)  Install  Earthsiege according to the instructions  in the game manual. 
    Make sure you select the correct sound driver (Gravis Ultrasound), DMA, 
    IRQ, and Port address. 
    
2)  Copy the contents of the patch disk (if you received this on a floppy 
    disk) or the file you downloaded into SIERRA\MTECH directory on your hard 
    drive. If you have installed the game to another directory, copy the disk 
    contents or downloaded file into that directory instead.
    
3)  Change to the SIERRA\MTECH directory, or the directory where you have 
    installed the game on your hard drive. (CD\SIERRA\MTECH and press ENTER. 
    Substitute the directory where the game is installed if you installed it 
    to a different directory.)
    
4)  Type FIXEARTH.EXE and press ENTER. This will make the necessary 
    modifications to update Earthsiege and allow it to work with the Gravis 
    Ultrasound.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not run the SOUNDSET program after you have installed the 
patch. If you do, you will need to re-run the patch after you run the 
Soundset program.
