Mode 80 or CO80 ?? The correct use of the DOS MODE command is somewhat confusing. One problem is, you would think you would use MODE CO80 in order to operate programs in color. But plain old MODE 80 will give you color, if the software provides it. In fact, you will get color if you type MODE BW80. The distinctions between these commands were made in order for IBM PC owners to be able to switch between their monochrome and their color graphics boards (which jr owners don’t have to worry about). Jr owners might find the MODE BW80 command useful, however, if you want to see a more readable display on a black and white monitor.
