Software used to make and test these pages

The big three:

• File Commander/2 2.01 from Brian Havard, a file manager and editor for OS/2 Warp that's starting to get the recognition it deserves
• FTPIFS 0.3, an ftp client for OS/2, implemented as a file-system driver -- brilliant!
• PMView 1.04, a graphic viewer and converter for OS/2 Warp

File Commander/2 and FTPIFS in particular are a killer combination. FTPIFS can map the remote directory on my web host to a local drive letter, and File Commander/2 makes it possible to edit and move files between my local machine and the remote directory almost exactly as if I were working on local drives. About 90% of the work on this site was done with just these two tools.

Also used:

• StyledEdit, a text editor that comes with the BeOS R4)
• XyWrite III+, an awesomely configurable editor for DOS that runs great under OS/2, too!
• pico, a text editor for UNIX
• The OS/2 System Editor
• Home Page Builder 2.0.4 for OS/2, an HTML editor from IBM Japan. This is my first experience with a real HTML editor. I've only been using this for a few days. I miss the freedom and flexibility of my usual text editors, but I'm trying to keep an open mind.
• Zap-O-Comm/Pro 3.11, a comms and telnet client for OS/2 Warp
• NetPositive 2.01, the web browser that comes with the BeOS R4, and the actual source (along with Salon magazine) of many of those haiku error messages floating around the net that are humorously (but incorrectly) ascribed to the likes of Sony
• Netscape/2 2.02 for OS/2 Warp
• WebExplorer 1.2, a web browser for OS/2
• Lynx/2, an OS/2 port of the text-based web browser for Unix
