IBM PM Device Driver for Windows 98/ME/2000 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HOW TO INSTALL: IBM Power Management for Windows 2000 1. Start Windows 2000. 2. Select Add/Remove Hardware from Control Panel. 3. Select Next, then Add/Troubleshoot a device. 4. Select Unknown, then click on Next. 5. Select Finish, then Next. 6. Select 'Search for a suitable driver for my device', then Next. 7. Select 'Specify a location', then Next. 8. Specify x:\DATA\WIN2K\US\IBM PM DRIVER, then Next. 9. Click Finish button. 10. Restart the operating system. (For update installation - when a previous version is already installed) 1. Start Windows 2000, and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator. 2. Open Control Panel; then double-click on System icon. 3. Select Hardware tab; then click on Device Manager button. 4. Click on View; then select Device by type. 5. Double-click on System devices. 6. Double-click on IBM PM Device. 7. Select Driver tab; then click on Update Driver button. 8. Click on Next. 9. Select 'Display a list of known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver' option. 10. Click on Next. 11. Click on Have Disk button. 12. Specify the directory X:\DATA\WIN2K\US\IBM PM DRIVER; then click on OK. 13. Select IBM PM Device from Models list; then click on Next. 14. Click on Next. 15. Click on Finish. 16. Close the Wizard window. 17. Select Yes in the System Settings Change message box to restart the system. ***** Windows 98 ***** (For initial installation) 1. Start Windows 98. 2. Open Control Panel; then double-click on Add/Remove Hardware icon. 3. Click on Next. 4. Click on Next. 5. Select 'Unknown Device' from the 'Devices:' list. 6. Click on Next. 7. Click on Finish. 8. Unknown Device Properties comes up. 9. Click on Reinstall Driver button in General Page. 10. Select 'Specify the location of the driver[Advanced]' option. 11. Click on Next. 12. Select 'Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want' option. 13. Click on Next. 14. Select 'Other devices'. 15. Click on Next. 16. Click on Have Disk... button. 17. Specify the directory name X:\DATA\WIN2K\US\IBM PM DRIVER where you extracted this package; then click on OK. 18. Select IBM PM Device from Models list; then click on Next. 19. Click on Next. 20. Click on Finish. 21. Restart the system. (For update installation - when a previous version is already installed) 1.
