TrackPoint Driver for Windows ME/Windows 98/Windows 95/Windows NT ---------------- How To Install: ---------------- < Windows Millennium > - Overwrite Install - 1. Start Windows ME. 2. Click on 'Start' -> 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel'. 3. Double-click on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon. 4. Click on the "Install/Uninstall" tab at the top of the "Add/Remove Programs Properties" window. 5. Click on "IBM TrackPoint Support" in the list. 6. Click on the "Add/Remove..." button. 7. Restart Windows ME. 8. Follow the steps in < Clean Install > section described below. - Clean Install - 1. Click on 'Start' -> 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel'. 2. Double-click on the "System" icon. 3. Click on the "Device Manager" tab at the top of the "System Properties" window. 4. Double-click on the "Mouse". 5. Double-click on either "PS/2 Compatible Mouse Port" or "PS/2 TrackPoint" whichever choice appears in the list. 6. Click on the "Driver" tab. 7. Click on the "Update Driver..." button. The "Update Device Driver Wizard" runs. 8. Click on "Specify the location of the driver (Advanced)." 9. Click on "Next". 10. Click on "Display a list of all drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want." 11. Click on "Next". 12. Click on "Have Disk". 13. Specify the directory X:\DATA\WIN98\US\TRACKPOINT where the driver files are extracted. Then click on 'OK' button. Then driver list appears. 14. Click on "IBM PS/2 TrackPoint" in the list. 15. Click on "Next". 16. Click on "Finish" in the "Update Device Driver Wizard" window. 17. Close the "IBM PS/2 TrackPoint Properties" window. 18. Close the "System Properties" window. 19.
