(1) SiS IDE Netware 3.12 Driver Installation (2) SiS IDE Netware 4.1 Driver Installtion (3) SiS IDE Netware Driver Installtion Notes *********** (1) SiS IDE Netware 3.12 Driver installation *************** ***** Notice ***** For Novell Netware 3.12, user had better to use SiS IDE Netware 3.12 Driver first to install the Novell Netware Operation System to avoid losing Netware volume information. Below is the installation procedure : 1. Follow all Netware 3.12 installtion procedure before execute ' Type "SERVER" ' description. 2. Insert the NETWARE 386 OPERATING SYSTEM-1 diskette into the floppy diskette drive of the file server. Type SERVER Ignore the message on the screen and enter any name for the server name. This is a temporary name to get you into the INSTALL utility. Enter any number for the internal network number. Again, this is a temporary number. 3. Type LOAD A:/NETWARE/NW312/SISIDE.DSK (Assume the SiS IDE Drivers diskette is put into floppy A:) or LOAD D:/IDE/NETWARE/NW312/SISIDE.DSK (Assume the SiS IDE Drivers diskette is put into CD-ROM drive D:) ********* (2) SiS IDE Netware 4.1 Driver Installtion ******************* * Use SiS IDE Device Driver Install Utility to install " SiS IDE Netware 4.1 Driver." 1.Execute "install.exe" file in the SiS Driver diskette. 2.Choose "Install Driver" "Install Netware 4.1 IDE Device Driver" ********* (3) SiS IDE Netware Driver Installtion Notes ***************** 1. SISIDE.DSK Support Netware 4.1 & 3.12 Hard disk & ASPI interface 2. By editing c:/server/startup.ncf file, you can force the default DMA master mode into PIO mode by using /d0, and /d1 command. For example load siside.dsk /d0 /d1 int=E port=1f0 ==> Force Channel 0 into PIO mode. load siside.dsk /d0 /d1 int=F port=170 ==> Force channel 1 into PIO mode. */D0 : force HDD (master) to PIO mode */D1 : force HDD (slave) to PIO mode Command Usage as follows : :load siside port=1f0 irq=e /D0 /D1 *I/O port : port=1f0 => I/O port 1f0-1f7 port=170 => I/O port 170-177 *IRQ : irq=e => interrupt request 14 irq=f => interrupt request 15 3) If you install two channel netware driver, please install as follows: LOAD SISIDE.DSK INT=E PORT=IF0 LOAD SISIDE.DSK /d0 /d1 INT=F PORT=170 4) If you want to mount the CD-ROM as one of your volumes, Novell lab. recommends user to use the HD & CD-ROM in different Channel. For example on Netware 4.1: LOAD SISIDE.DSK INT=E PORT=1F0 (Using channel 0 for HDs) LOAD SISIDE.DSK INT=F PORT=170 (using channel 1 for CD-ROM) LOAD ASPICD LOAD C:CDROM CD DEVICE LIST ; (There will show a CD-ROM device # on the screen) CD MOUNT # ; (# is the device number of the CD-ROM) 5) SiS Netware driver can support the CD-ROM as follows: OTI Dolphin 8001 SONY CDU55E SONY CDU76E TOSHIBA XM-5302B NEC CDR-273 CREATIVE CD420E CREATIVE CD620E MITSUMI FX400 WEARNESS CDD220 *************************************************************************
