Alternatively, the installation can be started from a DOS box by changing directories to the \WIN95 directory on your installation CD and running "SETUP.EXE". 5. Follow the instructions presented by the installation utility (InstallShield). II. DESCRIPTION OF PHAZER TOOLS --------------------------- Phazer Tools is a set of Windows 95 software that allow you to configure your ThrustMaster Phazer gamepad quickly and easily. Included with Phazer Tools are configuration files (known as "control maps") that give you instant support for today's most popular computer games. Using Phazer Tools, you can also create your own custom configurations for your favorite games. On-line help supplies all the information you need to create your own game setups. III. FEATURES OF PHAZER TOOLS VERSION 1.02 ------------------------------------- Phazer Tools version 1.02 contains the following components and features: o The Game Control Center permits you to quickly configure your Phazer gamepad for use with most of today's most popular games. The Game Control Center gives you the ability to make a printout of your game control setup, access the Phazer Mapper, configure ThrustMaster's Windows 95 AutoProgram facility, add support for new game titles as they become available, and access the Phazer Mapper. o The Phazer Mapper is a program that you use to create or modify game control setups for use with your Phazer Pad. The Mapper features a dual mode graphics/text editing environment that allows you to easily create the game setup you want. The Mapper's on-line help, autoprompting, and a "floating" virtual keyboard provide the information you need to customize the operation of your Phazer Pad. o ThrustMaster's Windows 95 Downloader (known as DL9x) is fully integrated into the Game Control Center and Mapper. It transfers your game setup information into the Phazer Pad's memory when you are ready to program the Phazer Pad. DL9x downloading is the fastest and easiest way to program your Phazer Pad. o ThrustMaster's AutoProgram feature makes the game controller setup an automatic part of playing a game. Once enabled using the Game Control Center, AutoProgram automatically configures your Phazer Pad for use with any game you start from within Windows 95. o Calibration and testing of the Phazer Pad for use with Windows 95-based games can be done from the Control Panel. Select the "Joystick" icon in the Control Panel, and choose "ThrustMaster Phazer Pad" from the list of controllers displayed in the "Joystick selection:" combo box. You can then calibrate and/or test the operation of the Phazer Pad within Windows 95 for use with the new generation of games using the Windows 95 game control interface. o ThrustMaster's DOS-based joystick utilities TMScope and Keytest are installed by default in the \TM\BIN directory. You can use these utilities from within a DOS box, or create shortcuts to them for testing the Phazer Pad's configuration for DOS-based games. o Control maps are included for most of today's hottest game titles. More are currently being developed by ThrustMaster and by game publishers. As they become available, these control maps can be added to your system using the Update feature of the Game Control Center. IV.
