Contents ================= This kit contains two special drivers for running Quake and Quake II on 3Dfx Banshee accelerator cards. The two files, opengl32.dll and 3Dfxgl.dll, contained in this distribution are identical. For Quake II, you need to place the driver file 3Dfxgl.dll in the Quake 2 application directory. The other driver file, opengl32.dll, is for Quake 1, and it needs to be placed in the Quake directory. Please note that having the file opengl32.dll in your path may prevent other applications from running properly as this driver only contains the functionality required by Quake and Quake II. Installation ================= For Quake II users: ------------------------- After unzipping the drivers, simply move the 3Dfxgl.dll file to your Quake II applications directory. Before doing so, you may wish to first backup or rename your existing 3Dfxgl.dll. For Quake I users: ------------------------- Due to possible conflicts with other programs that use opengl32.dll, We strongly recommend that you install this driver as follows: 1) For backup purposes, find your Quake directory and rename your existing opengl32.dll (E.g. to opengl32.old). 2) Copy the new opengl32.dll to your Quake I directory.
