Considerations and requirements for stereo under Windows 9x:

  1. DirectX 6 must be installed as a minimum; DirectX 6.1 is better.
  2. At the selected resolution, the monitor must reach a refresh rate of at least 100 Hz (120 Hz is better), as the 3D glasses cut the actual refresh rate in half and a 3D effect isn't visible at rates of less than 50 Hz. Flat (LCD) screens are not suitable for the display of stereo modes since they generally can only display a maximum refresh rate of 75 Hz. Use the program \PROGRAMS\DIRECTX\SETUP\DXDIAG.EXE to set a user-defined DirectX refresh rate. Under 'Further Help', you can change the DirectDraw refresh rate from 'Standard' to the desired value.
  3. To get the stereo effect, ensure that the Direct3D application is set to double buffer rather than triple buffer when using the ELSA VICTORY II.
  4. Activate 'Stereo' on the 'ELSA Stereo' tab in the 'Display Properties' dialog box. Up to 4 cable-type 3D glasses can be used in conjunction with a cable adapter, or up to 6 infrared ELSA 3D REVELATOR models on an infrared emitter on one PC.
