Connect Network Cable

In order to configure the device, it needs to be discovered on the network. Temporarily plugging in the network cable allows the printer to be discovered on the network and the installation to continue. Once the printer is configured for wireless communication, the setup wizard prompts you to remove the cable.

  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Connect the network cable to the network port on the back of the printer.
    If the link light is... Then...

    On and green

    Click Yes.

    Off

    • Verify that the network cable is securely connected to both the printer and the Wireless Access Point (WAP) or computer.
    • Verify that the Wireless Access Point (WAP) is turned on.
    • Verify that the printer is turned on.
    • Verify that the computer is connected to the network.

If you are unable to connect the cable, click No.
