Overview of PowerBackup 2

PowerBackup 2 is a sophisticated PC backup solution that helps you secure your valuable digital data from accidental data loss. It analyzes, sorts, and archives your files onto a hard drive, disc, or removable storage media, then logs the backup results for when you need to restore the data or search for files in the archive. PowerBackup supports a broad range of CD/DVD burners, thus you can expect excellent compatibility, including double layer DVD+R and DVD-R burning on a blank 8.5GB disc.

The task-based user interface design makes PowerBackup 2 easy to comprehend, and in each task category, a step-by-step guide ensures that you can't go wrong. For advanced users, PowerBackup 2 offers options such as Incremental and Differential backup methods. Backups can be scheduled at regular intervals in the Scheduler. All of these features make PowerBackup a convenient, reliable, and feature-rich product that suits the needs of every user who sees the importance of backing up his or her important data.

New Features in this Version

Application-specific backup features:
PowerBackup 2 automatically lists the supported applications and lets you back up application-specific files without searching your computer to find them. Now you can back up Outlook/Outlook Express emails, Internet Explorer's Favorites, and also files in Windows Address Book.

Enhanced file filters:
PowerBackup 2 includes different file filtering methods for more advanced file backup. Using file type groups allows you to select a file type (for example, "image files") instead of selecting a long list of different image file types individually. You can also use the include or exclude filters. The include option allows you to include only the file types you select in the backup task. Similarly, the exclude option allows you to exclude selected file types from the backup. (You can further select registered file types or custom file types to your filter options.)

Restore Tool:
In PowerBackup 2, you can include the Restore Tool (in .exe form) together with the backed up files. In this case, the backed up files can be restored even if the PowerBackup 2 program is not installed on the target computer.

More complete media support:
Supports CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DVD-RAM discs and the upcoming Blu-ray discs, as well as IDE or removable hard drives, Jazz drives, ZIP drives, Flash drives, and other PnP-compliant devices. With Blu-ray disc, you can carry 25GB of data on a single-layer disc media, however a Blu-ray compatible drive is required. PowerBackup 2 also supports burning double-layer 8.5GB DVD+R and DVD-R discs.
