Plug & Play Note


      Our Plug&Play ethernet adapter supports AUTO, jumperless/PnP and
      jumper modes. You can set the adapter's mode to jumper mode or to
      AUTO/jumperless/PnP mode by the jumper on the card. The default mode
      is AUTO mode for ver 3.x or PnP mode for ver 2.x. You can set
      the adapter's mode to AUTO, jumperless or PnP by running setup.exe
      program provided in this driver diskette.
      
      For ver 3.x adapters, it is recommended to use AUTO mode always. The
      adapter will be set to the appropriate mode according to your system,
      regardless the system is PnP or non-PnP system.

      For ver 2.x adapters, it is recommended to use PnP mode if your PC
      supports PnP feature, or it is recommended to use jumperless mode
      if the PC does not support PnP feature.

      If you set the adapter to Plug&Play mode and your PC does NOT support
      PnP BIOS, this adapter may work correctly only under Windows 95
      and DOS environment with our drivers. This adapter may not work
      with any NE2000 compatible drivers because it is without any I/O base
      address and interrupt. In this case, You can set the operating
      mode of this adapter to jumperless and then setup the interrupt
      and I/O address. The configuration setup can be done by the
      setup.exe program provided in this diskette.

      If you set the adapter to Plug&Play mode and your PC DOES support PnP
      BIOS, The BIOS will auto-setup your adapter configuration. You don't
      need to set up the adapter's configuration any more. If there is any
      legacy ISA adapters as well as PnP adapters in  your  PC, Your PC's
      PnP  BIOS  perhaps  connot  auto-setup  adapters' configuration
      correctly.  The  configuration of  PnP  adapters  will  potentially
      conflict with ISA adapters'.  Your PC will potentially not work
      after you install a Plug&Play card. You must setup the configuration
      manually to prevent from resources conflict. There are many tools can
      be used to setup the configuration, such as BIOS's setup, CM.EXE
      configuration manager program provided by Intel and our setup.exe
      program for our PnP ethernet cards.

      If you set the adapter to PnP mode, Windows 95 will prompt you to
      install the driver when Windows 95 starts up.  You can install
      driver either from this driver diskette or from Windows 95. The driver
      provided in  this  diskette is a specially  designed turbo driver with
      parallel tasking features.  The performancce  of our driver is better.
      It is recommended to use the driver in this disk for our Plug&Play
      adapter instead of any other NE2000 compatible drivers. Windows 95
      will auto-detect your adapter configuration. You  don't  need to
      set  up  the adapter  configuration  any  more. If there are some ISA
      adapters  as  well  as  PnP  adapters in  your  PC, your PC's BIOS
      perhaps  connot  auto-setup  adapters' configuration  correctly.
      The  configuration of  PnP  adapters  will  pontentially  conflict
      with  ISA  adapters'.  You will  be  prompted  to  change  the
      configuration of PnP  adapters by  Windows 95  if any configuration
      conflict occurs. You  must  set up  your PnP adapters manually  to
      prevent  from the  resource  conflict.
