Question: What do I do if Windows 95 does not automatically recognize my modem?

Answer: If Windows plug and play does not automatically recognize your TDK modem, you may be missing Windows 95 PCMCIA resources. Your laptop will not properly recognize PC Cards if PCMCIA resources are missing.

1. Go to Control Panel | System | Device Manager tab.

2. Open PCMCIA Socket, remove the PCMCIA controller, and reboot.

3. As your laptop is rebooting, you should see a New Hardware Found message as Windows reinstalls your PCMCIA resources.

4. Go back to System | Device Manager | PCMCIA socket. If there is a red x or yellow exclamation mark next to the controller, you are missing Windows resources. Contact your computer manufacturer or Microsoft for assistance with reinstalling Windows PCMCIA resources.
