Question: Why isn't my modem recognized on my Apple Power Book?

Answer: In each application you use, you need to specify the location of the modem, i.e., Upper or Lower PC card slot in Modem Settings. The default is Printer/Modem port.

Also, if you have gone from System 7.xx to System 8.xx, you need to install PC Card and PC Card Modem extensions from 7.xx system software.
