MODEM SETTINGS FOR THE TANDY 300 BAUD INTERNAL MODEM DESKMATE TELECOM The August issue of "One Thousand" had a letter from E.J. Allison of Brea, California regarding the settings for the 300 baud modem and Deskmate's Telecom. I have found that the Voice and Computer dialing settings do work and have not tried the Host mode. VOICE DIALING ---------------------- DELAY: 2 SEND: *C*MG@^\DT RECEIVE: T NUMBER SEND: PPX RECEIVE: X PAUSE: 2 SEND: * COMPUTER DIALING ----------------------- DELAY: 2 SEND: *C*MG@^\DT RECEIVE: T NUMBER SEND: X RECEIVE: X WAITNC WAITC HOST ANSWER MODE ----------------------- DELAY: 2 SEND: *C*M@^\AX RECEIVE: X NOTES OF INTEREST ----------------------- 1) Set the TELECOM STATUS to 7 bits, even parity, 1 stop bit and XON/XOFF to ON. (The modem is quirky in that it doesn't seem to want to be programmed without this.) 2) Remember that the AUTO-LOG feature is DUMB. It will not work unless you specify "EXACTLY" what it will receive from the host system.
