MS-DOS/BASIC - DOS DIFFERENCES IN 02.11.21 and 02.11.22 for the Tandy 1000. If you do not yet have MS-DOS/BASIC version 02.11.22, take your Master disk to your local Radio Shack Computer Center, ATSO, or Store or dealer and ask for a backup copy of #700-2604. This upgrade is free of charge and the following changes have been made to the DOS and to Basic on the Tandy 1000: 1. BASIC.EXE is now fully implemented. Also several changes have been made to make it more compatible with IBM BASICA. All changes requested by the Educational sales people are included. 2. BASICA.COM is a new file which executes BASIC from the keyboard. When the command BASICA is used instead of BASIC, BASIC.EXE is loaded at a different location in memory. With some applications this provides more compatibility. 3. SYS.COM previously would not copy the MS-DOS operating system to some disks which had been formatted with IBM PC-DOS. These problems are now corrected. 4. The DISKCOPY.COM program was completely rewritten. It now is fully compatible with the IBM DISKCOPY. The major change in operation is that it now formats the target diskette while copying if the target diskette is not already formatted with the same number of sides and sectors per track as the source diskette. 5. The MODE.EXE program was enhanced to include the MODE COLORMAP and MODE TV command. See the documentation replacement pages or README.DOC for a description of what these commands do. 6. The GRAPHICS.COM program was significantly modified to allow printing of graphics to DMP or IBM compatible printers. The updated documentation describes the new capabilities of GRAPHICS. 7. ANSI.SYS was changed to correct the problem of not being able to substitute a control character with another character. For example, substitution of a "P" for a "control p" would not work correctly in the 02.11.21 version. 8. LPINST was changed to remove the REM statement from the MODE command line and place it on the next line of the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. 9. A README.DOC file was added to the diskette. 10. IO.SYS (hidden system file) was changed to update the version number of MS-DOS from 02.11.21 to 02.11.22. Replacement pages for the MS-DOS Reference Manual have been written documenting these changes. This information provided by Computer Customer Service SHACKMAN
