               RADIO SHACK SHIPS MICROSOFT OS/2 OPERATING SYSTEM

NEW YORK CITY -- Radio Shack, a division of Tandy Corporation, announced today 
that Microsoft OS/2 operating system for personal computers is now shipping.

MS OS/2 is a single-user, multi-tasking operating system which offers the 
customer several enhancements over MS-DOS 3.XX while still maintaining 
compatibility with most existing programs.

Using the 80286 protected mode on either an 80286 or 80386 computer, MS OS/2 
breaks the 640 kilobyte (Kb) memory barrier and allows 16 megabytes (Mb) of 
addressable memory.  This ability allows the user to run much larger 
application programs that are currently limited by 640 Kb of memory.

Designed to run on the Tandy 3000, Tandy 4000 and newly announced Randy 500 MC 
personal computers, MS OS/2 operating system (Catalog number 25-4100) has a 
suggested reail price of $325.00 and is available from Radio Shack Computer 
Centers, Plus Computer Centers and participating dealers nationwide.
