THREE DISK DRIVE BAYS--Enable you to install hard drives, diskette drives, or tape cartridge systems. The high-capacity, 3 1/2" diskette drive is installed in one bay. THREE 16-BIT STANDARD EXPANSION SLOTS--Permit installation of 16-bit adapters. These are full-sized, 13" slots. Some sixteen-bit adapters use a higher data transfer rate than 8-bit adapters. ON-BOARD VGA-COMPATIBLE VIDEO WITH SUPER VGA MODES--Provides the high resolution and many colors of Super VGA modes. Super VGA features 16-color, 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600 graphics modes and 132-column text modes. VGA-compatible video can emulate the MCGA, EGA, CGA, MDA, and Hercules standards. Requires a VGA analog monitor (color or monochrome). MUSIC AND SOUND HARDWARE--Enables you to record, store, and play sophisticated music and sound. Includes an analog-to-digital/digital-to-analog converter, a built-in speaker, a digital volume control, a microphone connector, and a headphone connector. The Music and Sound manual is shipped with the computer. 1MB OF DYNAMIC, RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY (DRAM)--Enables you to run a variety of software. This memory is permanently installed on the main logic board. the on-board sockets are free for the installation of additional memory. BUILT-IN DISKETTE DRIVE CONTROLLER--Saves you the cost of a diskette controller board and the use of a 16-bit slot when you add diskette drives. Supports up to two diskette drives. BUILT-IN 16-BIT SMARTDRIVE (IDE) CONNECTORS AND CONTROLLER--Enable you to quickly add convenient, reliable hard disk storage. SmartDrives provide maximum performance at minimum cost. The built-in controller supports up to two SmartDrives. BUILT-IN MOUSE PORT (MINI DIN CONNECTOR)--Saves you the cost of a PS/2-style mouse board and the use of a 16-bit slot. BUILT-IN SERIAL PORT--Saves you the cost of a serial expansion adapter and the use of a 16-bit slot when you connect a serial mouse, an external modem, or other serial device. BUILT-IN HEADPHONE AND MICROPHONE CONNECTORS--Enable you to connect a microphone or line-level audio input device. The headphone connector features simulated stereo and supports the connection of a line-level audio output device. The digital volume control of the built-in speaker or optional headphone can be adjusted by pressing a sequence of keys on the keyboard. BUILT-IN PARALLEL PORT--Saves you the cost of a parallel expansion adapter and the use of a 16-bit slot when you connect a parallel printer or other parallel device. This port can be set for unidirectional or bidirectional data transfer. BATTERY-BACKED INTERNAL CLOCK--Maintains the system date and time when the computer is turned off. The clock's battery also powers the CMOS RAM which maintains current configuration settings. KEYLOCK--Locks the expansion adapter cover and carriage to secure the contents of the system unit. OPTIONS ADDITIONAL STORAGE DEVICES--Give you a variety of storage options, including: high-capacity and standard-capacity diskette drives (3 1/2" or 5 1/4"), internal hard disk drives (3 1/2" or 5 1/4"), and tape and/or disk cartridge systems. MEMORY UPGRADE KIT--Contains 256KB or 1MB SIMMs to increase system memory on the main logic board or on a 16-bit memory expansion adapter. VIDEO MEMORY UPGRADE KIT--Increase the video memory on the main logic board from 256KB to 512KB. This additional video memory lets you use more Super VGA modes. 16 MHz INTEL 80387SX MATH COPROCESSOR--Increases the numerical processing capability of your computer. A math coprocessor can process numeric data more quickly than the CPU. MODEM--Transmits and receives data through an ordinary telephone line. DIGITAL SCANNER--Converts printed text and graphics to digital form. FAX ADAPTER--Transmits and receives scanned graphic images through telephone lines. CD-ROM DRIVE--Accesses the enormous storage capabilities of read-only disks. MULTIPLE-FREQUENCY MONITOR--Lets you use more Super VGA modes.
