TANDY 1000 RSX (250-1454/55) Expansion Board Faxback Doc. # 1239 The Tandy 1000 RSX System provides two expansion slots that let you add special accessory boards. If you choose to add a modem board, you can communicate with other computers through the phone lines. Add a facsimile board, and your Tandy 1000 RSX System is quite simple. Once you familiarize yourself with the following procedure, you can install any type of expansion board. Read the instructions that came with the expansion board kit, and follow these directions: Note: Refer to Faxback Doc. # 1312 for location of Expansion Slots on Main Logic Board Layout. Note: The top expansion slot will hold a 10-inch expansion card, and the bottom expansion slot will hold a 7-inch expansion card. Be sure the power is off and cables removed before proceeding with the following steps: 1. Remove the back cover screw and the back cover. (Save the cover in case you remove the board.) 2. Align the expansion board with the open slot. Note: If your expansion board has a straight edge, it is not necessary to feed the edge through the open slot. 3. Using both hands for support, press the expansion board into the riser card. Make sure the expansion board is well seated. 4. Use the screw that was previously removed to fasten the board to the back of the computer. 5. Close the computer and reconnect the cables. Then, restart the computer.
