The 1000 TX has one 3 1/2" 720KB diskette drive already installed. In addition,
you can install one of the following storage devices:

* A 3-1/2" Diskette Drive (25-1075) in the 5-1/4" drive bay, using a 3-1/2" 
to 5-1/4" Disk Drive Adapter (25-1076). 

* A 5 1/4" Diskette Drive (25-1063) in the 5 1/4" drive bay.

The 1000 TX supports most IBM PC/XT-compatible diskette drives. However, we 
recommend the Tandy diskette drives available at Radio Shack Stores. These 
drives are designed especially for your computer.

If you are installing a diskette drive, remove the panel from the computer 
front cover.

To remove the 5 1/4" panel, press down on it from the outside of the cover. 
The 5 1/4" panel is not replaceable.

5 1/4" Diskette Drive Installation--5 1/4" Drive Bay

To install a 5 1/4" diskette drive in the drive bay of the computer:

1. Press the latches of the two drive mounting rails in firmly. Slide the
rails out of the 5 1/4" drive bay. Remove and discard the grounding clip
screws.
2. Use a small screwdriver and the four screws included with the diskette
drive to attach the rails and the grounding clips to the drive.
3. Slide the drive mounting rails and the diskette drive approximately halfway
into the drive bay. Attach the drive and power cables as directed in the
diskette drive installation guide.
4. Slide the drive into the bay until the latches snap into place.
