TANDY 000 RSX (250-1454/55) Features Faxback Doc. # 1332 The internal options for your Tandy 1000 RSX floppy: * AT Smartdrive Interface, add any AT style Smartdrive from 40 MB to 240MB. Note: If you have the 1000 RSX hard drive version, the 52 MB smartdrive can be replaced with a larger AT Smartdrive. Only one hard drive can be added to the 1000 RSX. This is a physical limitation due to the small design of the case * Two AT style 16-bit expansion interfaces are available for additional option boards. The external options for your Tandy 1000 RSX plug into the system from the back panel. Note that each position is individually labeled for you. * For more ease of use with DeskMate and other programs, you will want to try a mouse. The PS/2-style mouse that came with your Tandy RSX system, lets you simply "plug and use." * You can use the SERIAL connector on the back of your Tandy 1000 RSX System for any piece of equipment that requires a serial connector. * The Tandy 1000 RSX lets you run programs that produce sound, but sometimes people around you might appreciate the sounds of silence. You can easily oblige by connecting stereo headphones with an 1/8" plug to the EAR connector on the back panel. * You can use an amplified set of speakers for external sound capabilities. These speakers can be connected to the EAR connector on the back panel instead of headphones. * Remember, you can modify the sound level of your Tandy 1000 RSX's sound system by simply adjusting the VOL knob. * You can also change a jumper on the inside of the machine so that you can use direct audio line level output from other devices. * Take advantage of the special sound reproduction capabilities of your Tandy 1000 RSX System.
