TANDY 1000 RSX (250-1454/55) Windows Video Drivers Faxback Doc. # 1336 Note: If you purchase Windows Version 3.1 you will need to run the following procedure and use the Video Drivers for Windows that come with your computer. After installing Windows 3.1 on your computer, you might want to change the video display mode. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Change to the \WINDOWS subdirectory. 2. From the MS-DOS command line, type setup and press ENTER. 3. When the setup screen appears, scroll to the Display field and press ENTER. 4. Select Other from the list, and press ENTER. 5. Insert the Utilities Diskette into drive A. In the box where Windows prompts you to enter the hardware manufacturer's video driver, type: a:\win31 The following video display choices will appear: AVGA2 1023x768, 16 colors (requires a multi-frequency monitor and additional video memory.) AVGA2 640x480, 256 colors (requires additional video memory.) AVGA2 800x600, 16 colors (requires a multi-frequency monitor) AVGA2 800x600, 256 colors (requires a multi-frequency monitor and additional video memory.) Select one of these options, and press ENTER. Press ENTER to accept the changes. Setup prompts you to insert various Microsoft Windows 3.1 diskettes. Insert the appropriate Windows diskette. Setup prompts you to insert the UTILITIES diskette. Insert the diskette and type a:\win31. Windows now comes up in the resolution you selected. NOTE: If you want to change the resolution again, you can run Windows Setup from within Windows instead of running Setup from MS-DOS. Refer to your Windows Instruction Manual for this procedure.
