With normal system use, the battery that powers the Tandy 3000 CMOS chip should last at least three years before you need to replace it. Note: If you are storing the computer for long periods of time, you can extend the life of the battery by unplugging it from the main board until you are ready to use the computer again. Remove the lock-type connector from the main logic board by pushing the lock-lip away from the internal drive and, at the same time, lifting the connector. 5.
