Hitachi(TM) CD ROM Disk Drive (90-2156)

DESCRIPTION

The Hitachi CD ROM Disk Drive incorporates the latest state-of-the-art
miniaturized opto-electronic technology to ensure long-term reliability under
varying operating conditions. It is a slim-line stand-alone drive with a
self-contained power supply. In addition, this drive features audio circuitry
capable of playing audio compact disks. The user can daisy-chain up to four
drives using one controller card.

Those interested will be publishers, educational institutions, businesses and
others using word processing software and "Microsoft(TM) Bookshelf", and
library and educational systems using library access software and "The
Electronic Encyclopedia" software.

* Over 552 MB of CD-ROM data (using 60 minute disk), daisy-chain ability can
  be combined with up to 4 drives of Hitachi type per interface card and can
  be mixed with previous Hitachi drives.

Storage:   Two floppy disk drives and one 20 megabyte hard disk drive
           (Application software dependent from one floppy disk (5 1/4) to
           two floppy disks to one floppy disk and a hard disk)

Printer:     IBM graphics-compatible (optional - application dependent)

Op Sys:      MS-DOS(r) 3.1 or higher using MS CDEX(r)

Software:    MS CDEX provided - for use with Microsoft bookshelf. Other CD-ROM
             access software provided by software maker/database distributor.
