4866 LX/T (250-5144) Troubleshooting the Video Adapter Faxback Doc. # 1499 The following is a list of some typical symptoms of problems you might have with the video adapter, along with possible solutions: One long beep and two short beeps when you turn on the system: * The video adapter is not seated properly in the expansion slot. Reseat the adapter, being sure that it is secure. * The expansion slot connector on the video adapter is not clean. Clean the edge connectors with a clean pencil eraser. Use cuation because the gold plating it thin and will not stand up to severe abrasion. To avoid leaving residue on the connectors, do not touch them with you bare hand. * If cleaning and reseating does not solve the problem, contact your computer dealer for assistance. Be sure that the adapter is firmly seated and that the monitor power cable and the monitor signal cable are securely connected. * The system is not configured correctly.
