1800 HD (250-3502) Power Utility Faxback Doc. # 1870 Using the Power Utility: FDC STANDBY MODE ENABLE SERIAL PORTS DISABLED HARD DISK TIMEOUT Never Timeout DISPLAY TIMEOUT Never Timeout STANDBY MODE TIMEOUT Never Timeout The power180 program lets you temporarily change the timeout parameters and other power management parameters without rebooting the computer. However, changes you make using this program are not stored in memory, and when you reboot the computer, it returns to the parameters you stored using the setup180 program. NOTE: You cannot enable power management parameters when using AC power. If you make changes, the changes are ignored until you switch to the internal battery power. The power management parameters let you enable or disable the floppy disk controller, enable or disable the serial ports, or set the hard disk and display to automatically turn off after a selected period of inactivity. Of course, you can turn the hard drive and display on again whenever you need them. You can also set the Standby mode to automatically activate when there is not a disk in the floppy drive, hard drive, port or keyboard activity. (smm 08/06/93)
